That's why we're going to be talking all about increasing website traffic in this blog post so that you can sell more digital planners and improve people's lives! When the amount of people visiting your site increases, so does your number of sales. There are so many ways to get more people to see your products, but we're going to focus on...

Email Marketing
Now we're not just talking about sending a weekly newsletter here. While a newsletter is an amazing tool and can help you build like, know, and trust with potential customers, there are even more ways to utilize email marketing so you can increase revenue!
A cart abandonment sequence is a series of emails sent to potential customers who have added a product to their cart and possibly even started the checkout process but never pressed that "place order" button. To write a strategic cart abandonment sequence, you can...
Write enticing subject lines that include the customer's name if possible
Build trust, keep it brief, and make the emails personal
Include a discount code or another incentive to invite them to purchase
You can also create automated email sequences specifically for past customers. Research has actually shown that marketing to new customers in comparison to past customers is five times as expensive (source) and repeat customers are worth up to 10x the amount of their first purchase (source)! By marketing to past customers, you'll be doing less work while increasing the chances of making more money.
There are five different ways that you can utilize email marketing to increase website traffic and make more sales…

Launch emails for new product releases & promotions.

Pinterest Marketing
Pinterest is like a niche search engine that can lead people right to your website and products. It can be used alongside a blog or even email marketing. 84% of people who use Pinterest on a weekly basis use the platform when making buying decisions. (source) A lot of these people are women and mothers, which is especially great if your target audience lies in that same zone. You can reach a wider audience without the effort it takes to show up consistently on Instagram or other similar platforms. To increase website traffic through Pinterest, you can...
Design visually appealing graphics that invite people to click to learn and save for later.
Create valuable content that answers the questions your audience is asking.
Stick to a consistent posting schedule and upload original content regularly.
Use strategic keywords that will help your pins pull up in your ideal customer's searches.
Pinterest has also recently released a variety of new features that you can use to boost website traffic by continuing to repurpose content!
Idea Pins
One of the most popular are Idea Pins, and they work similarly to Instagram stories. You can upload multiple images, videos, or text within one pin for viewers to tap through. They are great for multi-step guides, showcases, and so on. You can edit the fonts and colors you use as well, or upload something you’ve already designed. Learn more about Idea Pins here.

Pinterest Shop
Since Pinterest is a search engine that a lot of people use to do their shopping, they have also added more shopping features! Product Pins allow you to put together a catalog of all your products and then showcase information to Pinterest users about pricing, availability, along with the product title and description. Now you can direct all your Pinterest viewers to your products without them having to leave the platform! You can learn more about shopping on Pinterest here and view my shop on Pinterest here.
Video Pins & ads
You can also use Pinterest ads as a paid marketing method to increase Pinterest traffic (and therefore get more eyes on your website). Another great way to use Pinterest is by pinning video content, which is getting increasingly popular across most social media platforms. You can re-share your videos from Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube to Pinterest to funnel people to your website or other social media platform.

Blogging
One of my favorite ways to create educational content without having to show up all the time is through my blog. Creating a free resource library allows you to reach your target audience while allowing them to see you as an expert and provide free value before they decide to purchase any of your digital products. To start with, create some categories for your blog. These could be things like business advice, digital planning tips, and even lifestyle content. Your categories should align with your content pillars. Now you can create a list of all your blog post ideas to bring to life! Here are three simple suggestions...
How digital planning can positively impact your life
How to get started with digital planning
Your favorite digital planning tools
Writing blog posts allows you to repurpose content and diversify how you market your business. From one blog post, you can have Instagram captions, email newsletters, Pinterest pins, and even more!
Blogging Guidelines
Blogging is also great for SEO, or search engine optimization, where you can rank in search results to increase organic traffic to your website. This would mean that when someone types in a keyword, like “digital planner for moms”, your website will pop up and someone will come look at your products!
To get your blog posts and other website pages to rank in search results, you can use keywords. This is either one word or a short phrase that resembles something your target audience would type into a Google search. By using these words strategically throughout your website, blog title, blog headings, and paragraph text, you’re building up a whole library of keywords! When Google’s SEO robots come to crawl your website and see if you’re providing valuable content, they’ll see that your content is relevant and helping others. At the same time, you have to make sure that your blog posts are appealing to humans, not just the robots!
To do this, you can make your blog posts more interactive. Break text up into different paragraphs and subheadings. You can also add in videos, related articles, and free offers people can receive when they join your email list. You can find examples of all of these in this blog post! By switching things up instead of just presenting one block of text stuffed full of keywords, you’ll help to keep your audience engaged.
Building an Online Community
Once people find a brand they love, they tend to stick to it. One of the best ways you can increase brand loyalty is by creating a community of like-minded individuals. Basically, it's one place for all of your ideal customers to hang out together! I have a private Facebook group where both my members and I have great discussions every week. You can do the same thing on Facebook or a similar platform! You can even create a membership and host it on your website with monthly trainings, free resources, downloads, and more!
Additionally, you can create a VIP member hub exclusively for your customers. This can include pre-recorded video trainings and tutorials that members can watch whenever. Having that interaction allows members to feel closer to you personally and further your relationship.
I use MemberVault to host all my courses, challenges, and the VIP hub I have for anyone who purchases a course from The Pink Ink. You can learn more about MemberVault here! It’s an all-in-one platform where you can host courses, memberships, and provide support for those who have purchased a digital product from your business through MemberVault. Students who purchase one of my courses also get access to a hub of resources to help them along their digital planning journey.
When both past and potential customers see how much you care and how you go out of your way to provide them with the help they need, they'll come to see that purchasing a product from your business is a long-term relationship instead of just another way to make a quick dollar.
You can learn more about all the ways to increase website traffic and sell more products whether you have a personal website or an Etsy shop by reading more of The Pink Ink blog posts and joining our signature program, Digital Planner Academy. You'll learn how to create a marketing strategy that works for your business and increases the conversion rates between who visits your website and who walks away with a new digital product.
